Let's suppose that you are the developer of a great looking application, but you want to make sure that the users of that application will be able to use it without any problems. For this, you can just create a help file and explain all the features of the program. The problem is how to create a professional help file, as using Notepad or Wordpad for this purpose doesn't seem to be the best idea possible.

You could just install HelpScribble in this case, which is a Windows program that allows you to create professional help files in several formats. After installing the software, the user will notice that the interface of HelpScribble is split into two parts, the table of contents and the actual help text.

For making it easier to organize the help file and also find important points, the user can add several topics. For this, he will just need to right click on the interface and choose the option "Insert topic". When writing the actual text of the topic, the user can modify the font size, type and color exactly as he wishes. After the text has been written, for making sure that it's correct, one can use the spell checker, which can check for misspelled words using a single click.

In the end, the user can save the help file in several file formats, like HTML, RTF and so on. What's more, he can print the help text using any regular printer.

Pros

It allows you to easily and quickly create complex help files, by defining several topics. Besides that, it features a one-click spellchecker. Furthermore, help files can be saved in various formats.

Cons

The free version of the program doesn't allow you to export the help file in the RTF format. HelpScribble allows you to create complex help files in no time.
